To impeach or not to impeach

Rep Kucinich has attempted to start impeachment proceedings against Bush and Cheney, but it is really too late. However there is a good possibility there will be moves to rebuild the battered Constitution which has been laid waste by the neocons. Here's Kucinich's testimony yesterday

But Bugliosi really nailed it....

The tube must go

The film Network is 30 years old or more, but it's more relevant than it's ever been.
Peter Finch won an oscar, playing the newsman who sees through it all, but nobody has taken any notice, not really. Check the 'mad as hell' excerpt too, classic stuff.

Connect the dots

David Icke is a crazy fool. This is the received wisdom we have on the "one-time sports presenter". And indeed he does have one or two bizarre ideas. However I'm not so sure I believe the received wisdom. Here is a press conference he gave to launch his campaign in the Haltemprice by-election. This will not be covered by said press, in case you were wondering. If you watch it, you will appreciate that it's completely consistent with what he is saying that it won't be.

The long version
Anyone who thinks themselves open minded should watch this.

Waterboarding

This is not a water sport but a method of interrogation which the US has denied is torture. It was developed for American troops as part of their training in resisting things they might be subjected to by enemy captors. Now they use it to extract "confessions" from "terrorists". Christopher Hitchens, a well known neocon journalist and proponent of the Iraq war, has undergone waterboarding and written about it. The facts are here, they lied.
What is extraordinary about the film is how rapidly and simply his resistance is broken.
