Haiti

It's good that we give aid in situations when there's not much else you can do, and the UK is very good at that. But in this instance the question has to be asked - what is the USA up to? Most people are very reluctant to even ask the question, due to an almost inbred faith in western governments, but there is increasing evidence that they are more interested in control than compassion. Free

One of the greatest rock bands of all time, and under appreciated in favour of such overdone concoctions as Queen. Four great musicians happened to collide in the same band. Possibly better even than Zeppelin, although it was short lived due to Koss's addictions and early death. Andy Fraser, here about 18, was a fantastic bass player.

What was that TV programme in the 80s? An interesting article in the Guardian, and some helpful comments too. How are we affected by addiction to phones and internet? Has it destroyed social interaction or changed it radically?

Loose Change 9/11: An American Coup

A new version of this, with a cooler and more authoritative commentary by Daniel Sunjata, and less speculation, has been put out. Worth watching. This issue will not go away, much as many hope that it will. Also on Youtube

"The inert masses are mentally and spiritually ill equipped to deal with reality, so they block it out of their minds - aided of course, by the corporate media and the propaganda apparatus of the government itself. This is why fantasy is frequently substituted for reality, plutocracy is mistaken for democracy, and the majority of the people do not know the difference. Millions of good people thus refuse to allow into their psyche the suffering and misery that U.S. policies have produced and exported to the world, even as that reality is closing in upon them." - Charles Sullivan

Christmas Day terrorism

"WASHINGTON, DC, 5.1.10 -- Officials in the Obama White House are considering the possibility that the Christmas day attempt by Nigerian terrorist Umar Farouk Mutallab to blow up an airliner about to land in Detroit was deliberately and intentionally facilitated by unnamed networks inside the US intelligence community."
